Updated 2017 Toyota Highlander headed to New York Auto ShowPosted On October 25, 2016
On March 23rd, the 2017 Toyota Highlander and its numerous updates and enhancements will be on display at the 2016 New York Auto Show. The vehicle will then go on sale in the fall at a price that has yet to be announced.
For the new model year, Toyota wants to please buyers regardless of the trim level they select. Outside, the changes start with a new upper and lower front grille design, and each model will be distinguished by different grille finishes that will also carry into the headlamp housing. Around the back, the taillights will receive a sleeker redesign. Meanwhile, three new exterior colours will be available.
The interior of the 2017 Toyota Highlander can be had with new brown leather upholstery (Limited model). Charging personal devices will be more efficient as all Highlanders will add four USB ports for a total of five. A brand new SE model will join the lineup, complete with exclusive 19” wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, black leather seats, and more.
In terms of performance, look for a new direct-injected 3.5L V6 delivering more power (numbers are still unspecified) through a standard 8-speed Direct Shift automatic transmission. The Highlander Hybrid will offer the same engine, but with an electronically controlled CVT.
As for safety, the 2017 Toyota Highlander will come standard with Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS), a new multi-feature advanced safety package anchored by automated pre-collision braking.
